Welcome to my new home...after almost 3 years of blogging (in April) and 410 posts I've decided to let inspiration be my guide!
Inspired seems to be a theme in my life right now. While I was in Mexico I wore a red shirt with "inspired" written across the front of it, a lot! LOL
Inspiration refers to an unconscious burst of creativity in an artistic, musical, or other intellectual endeavor...literally, the word means "breathed upon," "in:spirit"
Homer believed that inspiration came from Gods such as the oracle of Delphi. Similarly, in the ancient Norse religions, inspiration came from the Gods. Inspiration is also a divine matter in Hebrew poetics and in Christianity, inspiration is a gift of the Holy Spirit. In a wonderful Ted video with Elizabeth Gilbert of Eat, Pray, Love, she talks about how the Romans called it their genius, and spoke of it like it was a living thing that brought with it, the gift of inspiration.
My inspiration too, feels like a gift to me. I'm inspired by the gift that life is...and so full of possibility. Inspiration allows us to transform our experience "into new forms that sing back to us".
This space then, will continue to be much as it has been for awhile...some digital art, some mixed media, some photography and a lot of my thoughts on life and my experience of it.
