Welcome to Inspired
Holding Light
Nikon SLR, macro lens
I began this blog in 1996 as a place to connect with other inspiring and creative souls and it's been all that and so much more. It's also become an online visual journal where I’ve recorded my creative, soulful and day to day thoughts and insights. Several years ago I began turning each year of my blog posts from both Inspired and Thru My Lens Lightly, into hands-on, non-virtual journals and it's a joy for me to look back through them and remember what's brought me to where I am today.

Digital Collage (created for Four Word Self Help...Simple Wisdom for a Complex World by author Patti Digh)
My life's focus has always been about the inner journey...the journey of connecting with that aspect of self that is Spirit. The quote by C.S. Lewis "You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body" has always rung true for me.

For the most part, this journey has been a solitary and non-traditional one, although I've studied with many mentors and teachers of personal and spiritual growth; in meditation...Vipassana and Mantra, yoga...Hatha, Iyengar and Kundalini and breathwork, as well as several different energy healing modalities.
I've chanted with Buddhist monks on the misty banks of the Mekong River. I've journeyed to sit in sacred and holy places and I've studied with fellow seekers from all corners of the globe. I’m certified in both 2nd degree Usui Reiki as well the healing work of Therapeutic Touch.
Stuck For Words
Digital Media
I've learned to express not only my joys but also my truths and fears through the creative processes of both art and writing and I've also come to know just how profoundly powerful and healing this can be. My creative interests often reflect my spiritual journey and I use digital art, art journaling, painting, photography and writing to express this (you can read more about that here if you’re interested). I love to expand my art practice with new media’s and techniques.

My passion for traveling the world is a life long one and my camera, art journal and traveling kit of watercolors, pens and pencils are part of the essentials, running a close second to my passport! When I immerse myself in other cultures and landscapes, I'm inspired to view the world through new eyes.

Home for my husband and I, is a small cove on Vancouver Island...35 miles from the mainland on Canada's west coast. Between us we have six (grown) children and ten grandchildren who are scattered between Canada and England. We also have a very sweet Sheltie...Molly, who's passions are walking and eating (I can so relate!). I feel very blessed to be living this...sometimes challenging, often surprising but always fascinating...beautiful life and with each step I take, new possibilities are unfolding and the journey of discovery continues.
