even if you don't live near the sea, you can listen to the calming and rhythmic sound of waves on a recording, easily downloaded from the internet.  I wonder if the sea's rhythm is so calming because it so easily matches the rhythm of our breathing...or maybe it calms our rhythmical heartbeat.

...and if the sea doesn't do it for you, try a babbling brook or woodland birds or any one of the many sounds of nature that are available for relaxation.  Great for the ipod!
