What we call the secret of happiness is no more a secret than our willingness to choose life.

While visiting my dad a few weeks ago, I happened upon a wonderful “find” in his basement. I came home with not one, but two antique typewriters! This one is an old Underwood that dates from around 1937.
Can you even get ribbons anymore for these beasts?
Picture if you will, a secretary in prewar dress, efficiently pounding the key’s (and they did need to be hit hard!). Maybe someone like this?
Or perhaps more like this!
Enduring blessings to each and every one of you,

I so wish that I had my mom's old typewriter...the very one I learned to type on...that looked just like this...

I remember using the old manual typewriters and, yes, my fingers sure got a good workout pounding those keys down. What a great find, Kate! One of my other blogger friends bought an old typewriter last year and I'm pretty sure she managed to find a place that dealt with the ribbons for them. I can ask her who she went through if you want me to?

There are places online for vintage typewriters, and they might stock ribbons. They are nifty :) xo, O

What a find! And yes, I remember old, non-electric typewriters. Thankfully not this old.. :-) Can you imagine how strong their fingers must have been?
