Even though I told myself I wasn’t going to do it….and I’m giving myself permission to not show up every single day… I’m going to semi-participate in Reverb10 this month. Reverb10 is an annual event and online initiative to reflect on your year and manifest what’s next.
December 1 One Word.
Encapsulate the year 2010 in one word. Explain why you’re choosing that word. Now, imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2011 for you?
Although it’s not the one that I chose at the beginning of the year, I think the word that most encapsulates 2010 for me is “release”. (I’d say “letting go” but that’s technically two words!) Yes, it’s been a journey. Why do we find it so hard to let go of what’s so obviously not working? But I did it…I “did the work” and really let it go. Yay!
And for 2011? I’m not sure about that yet but I have something percolating in the background…I’ll let you know in January!
To live in this world, you must be able to do three things:
to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones
knowing your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go.

Blessings to all on this countdown to 2011

Congratulations on 'letting go', Kate. A beautiful photo...I too, am captivated by her grace and poise!
Yikes, I haven't even thought about my word for 2011.
Love, light and peace,

Hi Kate. I thought twice (and then twice more) about participating in reverb10 too. The daily commitment seems overwhelming ~ I like your idea about giving my Self permission to miss a day or two.
My word for 2010 was 'Emerging' -- and when my 2011 word popped into my head, I instantly rejected it - it just wasn't me.
I've since picked it back up again. It's 'Adventure'.
Looking forward to seeing you on my way through this journey ...
