The theme for this week at Bella's 52 Photo’s Project is twinkling lights. We (in Canada) are just starting to get our Christmas decorations up this weekend, so we’re generally a little later than our American neighbours with the ho-ho-ho and the holly-jolly, but I did find some Christmas lights hanging in the atrium of the airport this morning. There was a lot of natural light coming in through the skylights so I gave them a boost in size and brightness by blurring the focus.
And no, we weren’t flying anywhere and we weren’t picking anyone up…we’re just a little crazy in our love for airports and often go there for breakfast! We stop at the Tim Horton’s…it’s a Canadian thing :)…on the main level, pick up a coffee and breakfast "to go", and then park ourselves in the plush leather chairs of the upper level observation lounge. It’s a lovely, quiet, out of the way spot and we’re content to sit and watch the comings and going of people and planes. (We’re easily entertained!)
airport lollygagging
Our small airport is a beautiful place and was recently named the 8th most loved airport in the world...who knew! As we sit and sip our coffee, we plan and dream about travels yet to come...(Oregon...Mexico, and California...over the next 9 months).
“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things.”
Henry Miller
Hoping your weekend has been a good one for you…stay in wonderment my friends,
I am enjoying your exploration of light, kate. Airport lollygagging (or any type of lollygagging for that matter) sounds lovely, xoO

Love that photo and the mood it exudes. I haven't done any decorations yet other than a German style Advent's wreath with four candles. Having a hard time getting into the spirit of it all, partly because it's unseasonably mild here. But Tom and I agreed to get our Christmas tree next weekend, this way it won't start to lose all it's needles way before Christmas :) I will have to forward this post to Tom, he would be so into spending time at a nearby airport like this! Me, too ;)
