In my previous post, I wrote about Patti Digh and her husband John who was recently diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma…and the fact that they’re not insured.
Patti is embarking on a journey that’s tied in with the very name of her blog…37 days…and she’s invited all who would like to join her as she makes her way through the next 137 days (taking us to December 31st, New Years Eve).
In Patti’s own words…
“And so I'm embarking on this journey. Come, be a pilgrim with me. It will be a simple path, one in community with others who want to love well, live fully, let go deeply, and make a difference. Together we will create greater, deeper meaning in our lives. We will live like we are dying in order to fully live. And we'll do it together.
Give what you can and feel called to give. Whatever--and I mean whatever--feels right to you. Everything you give will be used for John's medical expenses.”
I’m one of more than 500 that have already decided to dedicate the next 137 days to create deeper meaning my life. It’s not too late if you’d like to join in.
(Each participant has chosen 137 objects for the 137 days of the project. To fully understand the signifigance of each day that passses, we will transfer one bead, one stone, one small piece of paper, one piece of lego, etc from one container to another.
My beads (above) are made from pieces of gourd and were from a necklace that I bought in Mexico several years ago. I had thought I would take it apart and reconstruct it…well, that never happened. As opportunity would have it, I now plan to redesign these 137 beads into a necklace at the end of the project which I'll wear to remind myself of the journey)
Oh, I love this kate! I'm in Project 137 too (OF COURSE) and am enjoying what someone somewhere called a "lovefest" to support the Ptak/Digh family. Your beads are so elegant and simple and beautiful; you've designed your picture so well! I feel privileged to be a part of this entire experience. Glad you're there as well to join me and so many others, xoO

Hi Kate,
I went over to check out Patti's project. Registration has closed. I had found it interesting that I had recently posted the same quote by Buddha which was also on her site.
I am already committed to making my life meaningful. I have got plans on what to do until the end of the year, not in a big way for others but more for my own healing and I am very excited on what this may lead me to.
I wish you and Patti the best. I would love to see the beads at the end.
